How to make a killer first impression with your Instagram bio
Sounds good right? It took me several bio descriptions before I was pleased with my Instagram bio. Maybe you are still working on yours and you could use a few tips, so let’s do this!
My Instagram tips for an awesome Instagram bio
1. Your Instagram Name
Use your name whether it’s the name of your business, brand or your actual name. Most people already know your name, so make it easy for them to find you on Instagram.
2. Be Searchable on Instagram
You can add more than your name to really stand out. Add your job title, specialty, or niche that you are known for next to your name. The only fields that Instagram considers in search queries are your name and username. Adding a keyword next to your name will increase your chances of being found.
3. What do you do?
Tell Instagram users what you do and explain what makes you – or your business – unique. Also tell them what you share on Instagram. Use emojis or symbols in your bio and make it fun and friendly. Make it interesting and give them a reason to follow you.
4. Add your website link
By adding a link in your bio that goes to your website, webshop, blog or landing page, you are showing people that you are a credible business or brand. Your bio is the only place on Instagram where you can add a clickable link.
5. Show Instagram users who you are
Make it personal and engaging. Upload your profile picture to your Instagram account. Show people that you a person. When you are a brand or business, use your logo or use an image people are already familiar with.
